What is PAN?

  • Issued by the Income Tax Department, Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a ten-digit alpha-numeric unique identifier. A PAN is issued to each assessee (e.g. salaried individual, self-employed professional, firm, company etc.) in the form of a PAN Card. Your PAN card is valid anywhere in India.

Who can apply for PAN?

  • All assessees or persons who are required to e-file a return of income for themselves, even on behalf of others, must have a PAN.

Can I e-file my income tax returns without quoting a PAN?

  • No, your return of income would not be accepted without a valid PAN being quoted. In case you have applied for a PAN number at the time of filing the return you should mention so in the form.

Who do I call to answer any questions I may have?

  • On www.taxshax.com "Contact Us" link under Support displays our office address, phone number (020-66261814, 020-66261816) and support email ID (support@taxshax.com). It also has a link to Raise a Query. You can look for the answer to your question on Frequently Asked Questions web page. Where can I obtain an application form for PAN (Form 49A)?

  • The application form for PAN (Form 49A) in the prescribed format can be obtained from TIN-Facilitation Centres (TIN-FCs), any other stationery vendors providing such forms, or from the NSDL-TIN website.

Where do I submit my completed application for PAN (Form 49A)?

  • You can submit your signed PAN application form duly filled up, along with all supporting documents, to any of the TIN-Facilitation Centres (TIN-FCs) or PAN Centres managed by NSDL.

Can I apply for PAN online?

  • You can also apply for PAN online through the NSDL-TIN website https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan/index.html by selecting the option "Apply for PAN online". You can then follow the detailed guidelines and instructions provided on the website for you to complete and submit your form online.

Who is eligible to use Taxshax?

  • Indian citizens, residing in India, with income from salary and any or all of the following sources: Salary, House Property, Agriculture, Capital Gains or Income from other sources qualify to use this package.

Can an NRI use Taxshax?

  • No, an NRI does not qualify to use this package.

Can an AOP, HUF use Taxshax?

  • No, an AOP, HUF does not qualify to use this package.

Can a self employed person use Taxshax?

  • No, a self employed person does not qualify to use this package.

How do I Register with Taxshax to prepare the Indian Income Tax return?

  • Taxshax follows a very simple registration method. You can prepare your Indian Income tax return using Taxshax and pay only when you are satisfied with the package.
    The steps are:
    1. Click "TRY FREE" button on Home page.
    2. Enter your personal details and verify your registration.
    3. The system takes you to your dashboard. Click to open your return.
    4. Enter your Sources of Income and answer the simple questions posed by the system.
    5. While you answer these questions your income tax return gets built in the background with the system doing all the income tax calculation for you. (System also decides the appropriate package for you based on the information entered.)
    6. After you have completed entering all your data and before viewing the ITR you have to pay for the return.
    7. Select your mode of payment and click Pay Now for the system to take you to the payment gateway. . You can pay through credit card, debit card cheque or demand draft.
    8. After a successful payment transaction you can view and then e-file your Indian Income tax return.

What are the payment options?

  • While registering with Taxshax you can make online payment using your Visa or Master credit cards. You can also send a cheque or Demand Draft to the address displayed on the website. Activation of your account is subject to realization of cheques/ credit card.

Does my account registration ever expire?

  • Your registration with Taxshax is valid for a period of 1 year to e-file the returns for the current financial year. You will need to reactivate your login for the next financial year.
